After getting a Ph.D. in Computer Science at Columbia University, Giuseppe F. Italiano worked as a Research Staff Member at the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights (New York). When he was 33 years old, he won a National competition for Full Professor and went back to Italy. Before joining LUISS University, he was professor of computer science at University of Salerno, University “Ca’ Foscari” of Venice, and University of Rome “Tor Vergata”.

Giuseppe F. Italiano has worked on a wide variety of problems, producing highly-cited results on a number of different areas. Most of his research is centered around the design, analysis and engineering of algorithms for big data sets, with applications to several areas, including graph theory, social network analysis, computer and network security, and computational biology. His background, which includes also a five-year experience in industrial research, puts him in a unique position to carry out work that combines basic research with strong focus on applications. In 2016 he was nominated EATCS Fellow for “fundamental contributions to the design and analysis of algorithms for solving theoretical and applied problems in graphs and massive data sets, and for his role in establishing the field of algorithm engineering”. Giuseppe F. Italiano enjoys collaborating with junior researchers and PhD students, and he is committed to fostering excellence in graduate education. In the last 15 years he supervised a total of 18 PhD students (14 graduated, 4 on-going).

Stefano Za is adjunct professor in Informatics and Organization of Business Information Systems at LUISS Guido Carli University and visiting professor at the EM Strasbourg Business School (France). He is member of ERCIS, Secretary of the Italian chapter of AIS and research associate of the Center for Digital Communication, Commerce and Culture at the University of Baltimore (Cd3C). He is also member of program committees and reviewer for national and international conferences and journals in Information Systems and Organization Studies.

His main research interest is the analysis and design of digital artefacts and organizational systems. Specifically he is focused on the innovations affecting people and business behaviour in today’s transformative digital ecosystem. He has edited several books and journal special issues. He has also published a book and numerous papers on international conferences such as ICIS and ECIS, book series such as LNBIP and LNISO, and journals such as IEEE Wireless Communications, CAIS, I&M, JTAER, BJET.

Dr Fabian Homberg is Professor of Human Resource Management and Organisational Behaviour at LUISS Business School. His current research interests are public service motivation and incentives in private and public sector organizations. He has also been involved in research projects on top management team diversity, motivation, and recently small scale corruption. Among others his research has appeared in Organization Studies, Group and Organization Management, Public Administration Review, Public Administration, Journal of Business Ethics, International Journal of Manpower, American Review of Public Administration and Journal of Management and Governance.
He holds a doctorate from the University of Zurich, Switzerland. He has won several grants including funding from the Swiss National Science Foundation, the British Academy and the UK Intellectual Property Office. He currently serves as Associate Editor for Review of Managerial Science.

 

Niloofar Kazemargi is a Postdoctoral research fellow at the Department of Business and Management at LUISS Guido Carli and collaborates with the CLIO research center.  She received her Ph.D. in Business Management from the University of Tor Vergata, Italy. She has been a visiting scholar at Cranfield University, UK. Her research field concerns the issues of Open  Innovation, Supply Chain Management, and Digital Transformation.

Currently, her research is mainly focused on Digital Workplace Transformation and challenges associated with digital technologies.

Assistant Professor (Research) at the Department of Business and Management of Luiss University, where I previously held a Post-doctoral position (2017–2020). I spent two years (2015–2016) in the Department of Social Psychology and Social Neuroscience of the University of Bern (Switzerland), first as a visiting PhD student, and afterward as a post-doctoral research fellow.

I studied cognitive psychology at the Gabriele D’Annunzio University of Chieti-Pescara (Italy), where I also got my PhD in functional neuroimaging in the Department of Neuroscience, Imaging and Clinical Sciences. I also studied clinical neuropsychology at the Skinner Institute & European University of Rome, where I got a second level post-graduate master’s in clinical neuropsychology of childhood, adulthood and aging.

My main research interest is decision-making in both individual and group settings. At Luiss University my research work is focused on the study of the cognitive and neuro-functional mechanisms underlying the formation of organizational routines.

My papers have appeared in the European Journal of Neuroscience, Experimental Brain Research, Behavioural Brain Research, PlosOne, Psychology of Sport and Exercise, Social, Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience, Frontiers in Psychology, Addictive Behaviours and Journal of Cross-Cultural Psychology.

Postdoctoral research fellow at LUISS Guido Carli University, Department of Business and Management

She holds a PhD in Management and Business Administration from University G. d’Annunzio, Pescara. She has been visiting scholar at Aalto School of Business in Helsinki, HEC School of Management in Paris, and Cass Business School in London. She has also worked at Seedcamp, Europe’s leading pre-seed and seed stage acceleration fund based in London.

Her main research interests are in the areas of Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Organisation. Her works focus on the crowdfunding phenomenon from different perspectives, exploring the benefits of crowdfunding as a tool for open innovation in new ventures, and how behavioural mechanisms and cultural factors influence individuals’ willingness to risk investing in crowdfunding projects.

Daniele Mascia is Associate Professor of Organization and Human Resource Management at Luiss Guido Carli University. With a Ph.D. in Management, he previously held appointments at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (assistant professor) and at the University of Bologna (associate professor). He acquired further academic experience as visiting researcher/professor at the University of Sydney Business School, Chalmers University and KTH Royal Institute of Technology, and at USI (University of Italian Switzerland). He is currently research fellow at Foundation IMIT—Institute for Management of Innovation and Technology (Sweden). His research interests include the study of organizational social networks, the analysis of leadership and team processes in the context of organizational change, and the study of learning dynamics in complex organizations. For his research, Prof. Mascia received a number of awards and distinctions from, among others, the Academy of Management and the Operational Research Society. He is evaluator of research projects and individual profiles on behalf of the Italian Ministry of Research and Education, the Swiss National Foundation for Scientific Research and the Netherlands Organisation for Health Research and Development. Prof. Mascia has been advisor of public and private organizations in the health sector (hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, and medical device manufacturers)

Luca Giustiniano is Full Professor of organization studies in the Department of Business and Management and Deputy Rector for Organization and Faculty at Luiss University, Rome, Italy. He is an editorial board member of the Journal of Management Studies. 

During his career, Luca has been visiting researcher and scholar at the Viktoria Institute (Sweden), the Sauder School of Business (Canada), the Interdisciplinary Centre for Organizational Architecture (Denmark), the Nova SBE (Portugal), the Waseda Institute for Advanced Studies (Japan). He coauthored Elgar Introduction to Theories of Organizational Resilience (2018) and, together with Miguel Pina e Cunha and Stewart Clegg, he introduced the idea of managerial zemblanity (2016)His current research interests are focused on new forms of organizing, organizational paradoxes and metaphors.

I am Associate Professor in the Department of Law and Management Studies at the University of Perugia, Italy, where I teach courses in Strategic Management, Economics and Management of Business Firms, Marketing, Management of Innovation, Operations Management.
I am also Adjunct Professor at LUISS Guido Carli where I teach a course on Markets and Strategies.

I am affiliated to the Center for the Analysis of Financial and Economic Dynamics at the St. Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa, to the Computable and Experimental Economics Laboratory (CEEL) and to the Interdepartmental Center for Research Training in Economics and Management at the University of Trento. He is an Adjunct Professor at Luiss – Libera Università Internazionale degli Studi Sociali in Rome, where he is also the Scientific Coordinator of the “Guido” Mentorship Programme and a member of the Steering Committee of the Course in Global Management and Politics.

He is a Principal Expert in the People and Results area at The European House-Ambrosetti.  He provides strategic advice to numerous global organisations in the field of HR, Human Capital Utilisation, Training, Development and Knowledge Management.

He was Senior Advisor “HR & Human Intellectual Capital” for United Science & Technology co.ltd (Hangzhou – China); Senior Vice President HR Development & Education for the Finmeccanica Group, and previously, in similar roles, in the Group HR at Telecom Italia and TIM.

He was a Member of the Confindustria Technical Education Committee and of the Ministry of Education, University and Research Orientation Working Group as well as the Coordinator of the Ansaldo Foundation Culture Commission and Vice President of the Quacing Agency for Quality Certification and Accreditation Eur-Ace (European Accredited Engineer) for Engineering undergraduate Courses.
