Jannis Kallinikos is professor of Organization Theory in the Department of Business and Management at Luiss University in which he holds the Cisco Chair on Digital Transformation and Data-Driven Innovation, and Professor in the Department of Management at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
His research is on the impact of information and communication technologies on organizations and economic institutions, and draws on several social science fields, including organisation studies, innovation theory, sociology, communication theory and semiotics and information systems. He has published widely in Management, Information Systems and Sociology journals and written several monographs including The Consequences of Information: Institutional Implications of Technological Change, Edward Elgar, 2007, Governing Through Technology: Information Artefacts and Social Practice, Palgrave, 2011. He has together with Paul Leonardi and Bonnie Nardi co-edited Materiality and Organizing: Social Interaction in a Technological World, Oxford University Press, 2012.
Professor Kallinikos is currently senior editor of the Journal of Information Technology and Associate Editor of The Information Society and member of the editorial board of Organization Studies. He has earlier served as senior editor for the Journal of the Association of Information Systems and the European Journal of Information Systems and as member of the editorial board of Organization.
